Battle of The Books

About BOB Howard County Library program – 3 rd year (first year for Guilford teams) Teams of 5 fifth grade students read 15 books The BOB event is 50 questions about the books that the teams answer together Event - Friday, April 8, 2011, 7 pm at Marriotts Ridge High School (be there by 6 pm)

More about BOB Guilford has 4 teams Each team was given a set of books – we are sharing these among the 4 teams Each team member selected 8 books to read We meet on Mondays during lunch/recess in the media center

The Books……… Book list available on the Howard County Library website.

During the "battle” A moderator asks questions that relate to one of the following: a direct quote from one of the book characters; a direct quote from one of the book characters; a statement about something that happens in the book; a passage taken directly from the book; details about an illustration or picture. Every answer is the title of one of the 15 books and the author

Additional info. for parents… Each team member and alternate will receive one ticket for a guest (distributed by the coach). Children not participating in the Battle require a ticket and must be accompanied at all times by an adult.

It is advised to use a restroom before arriving at the school because bathroom space and time before the Battle is limited. Snacks may be left in the cafeteria, but the Library is not responsible for these items. No food or drinks (with the exception of bottled water) is permitted in the gym. No water is permitted on the Battle floor. Additional info. for parents…
