Examples of Good Practice Use of external UK and/or international external organisations as non-funded partners (target country Ministry of Education, employer partners, SSCs, RDAs, regional organisations and associations etc) and their relevance to the project Clearly marking out subsections of the project (e.g. Description of project with clearly marked sections for aims & objectives, proposed activities, projected outcomes etc) Make sure you specify the benefits to both UK and international partners and any anticipated impact beyond the immediate partnership (how far will the outcomes reach?)

Examples of Good Practice continued.. Ask yourself questions (Where? Who? Why? How? When?) Track record – highlight relevant kite marks or Beacon status, inspection grades. International experience – dont just look at international, but what best practice has been learnt through EU project partnerships. Your partners for this project (evidenced through Memorandum of Understanding or Letter of Intent from partners?) Be realistic! Plan achievable outcomes and anything more is a bonus! Be thorough with the budget planning from the outset - this helps the assessment process. Read the additional info for budgets carefully!

Examples of Good Practice continued.. Under Work Plan (explain roles of all UK and international partners/other orgs) make sure you complete this properly outlining all roles and responsibilities Under Measure 2 (possibility of 2 years of funding) need to think further ahead with possible ideas for a possible second year of project funding. Think realistically about the sustainability of the project partnership. The project funding may end, but the aim is to have allowed initial work to be done to allow the partnership to further develop its work/materials etc… (e-technology/contact, possible joint future commercial activities etc)

Examples of Good Practice continued.. Evaluation and dissemination – old LdV word valorisation – evaluation should be ongoing throughout the project life and beyond and embedded into all stages of the project. Where will you disseminate? What networks are you part of? This can extend beyond UK (eg. Are project results relevant to any EU funded project networks for example?) Project management – names of project team and their roles within it. Please dont just use the standard International Team format – wont you be using curriculum staff????!! Communication – How will you talk with each other? What tools will you use? Risk Strategy – What are the main risks? How will you mitigate them? Finally………if in doubt ask the AoC and/or British Council!!

Funding criteria In order to maximise the impact of the programme during the remaining two years to 2011 the PMI2 Programme Board has agreed that the primary focus of investment will be on a reduced number of country markets. This development takes into account the sometimes difficult political and economic landscape in some countries which make it impossible to achieve the challenging PMI2 goals in the remaining grant period. However, existing projects focusing on countries other than the reduced range of priority countries seeking continuation grants will be considered for a additional year due to the need to ensure continuity and enable existing partners sufficient time to maximise their impact
