System Requirements Operating System: Linux, Windows 2000/XP,UNIX, BSD, or Mac OS X Database: Postgres, Oracle Java : JDK
Database installation The installation file is oracle-xe i386.rpm available at html for rpm installation $ rpm -i oracle-xe i386.rpm After installation, configure the Oracle database with the following command: $ /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure
Database Installation To set Oracle running at bootup edit /etc/profile as follows : Add the line at the end of the file:./usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/serve r/bin/oracle_env.sh
Installing JDK Download lastest rpm from Run./jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-i586.bin Add the following lines to /etc/profile: PATH=/opt/jdk1.5.0_06/bin/:/usr/lib/oracle/xe/a pp/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/bin/:$PATH CLASSPATH=.:$CLASSPATH JAVA_HOME=/opt/jdk1.5.0_06/:$JAVA_HOME
Compiere installation Download from Extract files by the following command : $ tar xvfz Compiere_253a.tar.gz Server setup/Install by running : $ cd Compiere2 $./RUN_setup.sh
Compiere Installation
Setting database Enter the COMPIERE_HOME/utils directory and run the following script: $./RUN_ImportCompiere.sh Run the following command in the utils directory: $./RUN_Env.sh
Starting the compiere server Enter COMPIERE_HOME/utils and run the following command: $./RUN_Server2.sh
Client side Setup client by running :$./RUN_Compiere2.sh
Logging in
Start client
