New journal issues are published, electronic files are created BIOLINE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL CONVERSION PROCESS Links to.JPEG images for each article are added & checked. XML abstract files are created, HTML is cross checked with printed copy or PDF of original, links Original electronic (or scanned) files are converted to HTML. Standard formatting is applied, copyright & journal information is added to each file. ARTICLE CONVERSION Tables, equations, photos and figures from each article are made into.JPEG images for easily linking & retrieval from HTML documents. IMAGE CONVERSION FINAL TOUCHES & CHECKING FOR ACCURACY Bioline staff contact publishers, gather & organize electronic files from the publisher directly via , through postal mail, download from journal websites or scan FILE GATHERING & ORGANIZING Completed journal issues are uploaded to the CRIA server in Brazil, checked for accuracy and publishers & users are notified of the new issue online. UPLOAD & CHECK PDF versions of journal articles are deposited to the U of Toronto’s Digital Repository. All related files are archived by Bioline staff on CD-Rom for safe keeping.
