SKILLS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS Negotiated three year agreement with supplier of drive controls, strengthened negotiating position by developing alternate supplier Results: Supplier committed to three year contract. Price in first year was reduced 7% Additional 11% reduction in years two and three. Negotiations resulted in annual savings of $200,000. NEGOTIATING

SKILLS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS Established procedures for inventory control, shipping, receiving, raw material requisitioning and cycle counting functions at new fastener manufacturing plant. Trained and supervised personnel for those functions. Results: Functions were performed accurately and smoothly from start-up with inexperienced personnel. PLANNING and ORGANIZING

SKILLS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS Initiated effort to standardize basic control units to reduce lead time and cost Devised methodology of structuring engineering drawings to define common and variable elements of a group of machine controls. Multiple drawings were consolidated into two with fixed and variable elements. Results: Reduced cost of controls from $16,000 to $14,000 each and reduced lead time from 18 weeks to 14 weeks. INITIATING ACTION

SKILLS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS Developed customer spare parts kit purchasing capability rather than buying individual components. Coordinated with accounting, production control and inventory control and assisted in modifying their procedures to accommodated change. Results: Savings of $75,000 were realized in material handling costs and accounts payable labor on first application Process was subsequently adopted across entire range of purchased commodities.
