Rounding Step 1: Identify the place value you are rounding to. (underline it!) Step 2: Look, ONLY, at the number to the right of that place value. Step 3: If that digit is: 0-4, the underlined number stays the same. 5-9, the underlined number increases by one.
Practice Round 45.05891 to the nearest hundredths. Round 7.04829 to the nearest tenth. Round 15.9999 to the nearest thousandths. *Important: there must be a digit on the place value you round to, and NO digit after that place value.
