(overall RIT score) By May 2015, 50% of my 46 students (23 students) who scored below the NWEA ___ grade benchmark in reading comprehension will meet their projected MAP reading test RIT score goals.

Personalized Learning Goals and SLO’s Impact State Report Card.

Shifts in Instruction Reading in the Content Area/Reading Strategies Formative Assessment Tools- providing feedback to students WHILE they are learning, not AFTER W, P, W Lesson Plan Framework that promotes small group/strategy group Using the Learning Continuum to drive instruction and facilitate small groups/strategy groups to meet individual student need Learner Targets/Closure Activities – Neuro-Courtesy for learners If You Always Do What You Always Did, You Will Always Get What You Always Got

Specificity Specific goals are typically stronger than “Do your best” goals Feedback Better results with MORE feedback from teacher to student- DAILY!!!!! Setting Goals

Achievement Status and Growth Report Fall to Spring 4 th Grade Reading Example

Reading Norms Chart

Discussion Topics How do teachers currently conference with students and parents about their MAP Goals? How can we improve this process? Consider all elements of SMART Goals when goal setting What resources and tools do we currently have access to that are mechanisms to help students achieve their goals? What additional mechanisms might we tap into a deeper level? What will be done differently to meet the personalized MAP goal? By the student By the teacher How will your house set goals with students? Ideas to award students

Thank you!
