International workshop Participation to the Community programmes in the field of education and training- an important tool for European integration Bucharest, 6-7 May 2005

Background ERI SEE working programme for 2005 Commission proposal for the new Lifelong Learning integrated programme Memorandum of Understanding of the ministers of education from the SEE

Mandate of ERISEE Secretariat The ERI SEE Secretariat is responsible for the implementation of the annual programs adopted by the Governing Board within the overall objective of integrating SEE countries into the evolving Wider European Area of Education through networking, organisation and delivery of seminars, training, workshops etc.

Objectives of the workshop To present the ongoing Community programmes in the field of education and training- Socrates and Leonardo da Vinci, as well as the administrative requirements for participation To disseminate best results, experiences and best practices, to discuss the relevance of participating in the Community programmes and to reflect on how to develop national capacities for managing the newly integrated Community programme.

Outcomes expected Examples of best practices and bad practices, practical examples of success stories relevant for the SEE countries Creation of a network of experts

The donors The donors that make possible the organisation of the ERISEE workshops in 2005 : Austria, The Netherlands, Norway, Romania and Switzerland.

Next steps A follow up workshop will be organised by ERI SEE Secretariat in September Activities to be developed in 2006 under the new ERI SEE working programme. Focus: project cycle management, institutional capacity development.
