The Repentance of Paul of Tarsus

Saul was a Jew who lived in a city called Tarsus. He has two names Saul and Paul. His parents sent him to Jerusalem to learn about the Jewish religion. He was taught by Gamaliel very famous Jewish teacher.

Paul was persecuting the Christians because he thought that they were not worshiping God. He asked the High Priest to give him letters to go to Damascus and arrest the Christians and bring them to Jerusalem to be judged.

Saul met Jesus When Saul was on his way to Damascus, something really strange happened to him Suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell off his horse to the ground and heard a voice saying “Saul,Saul why are you persecuting me?” Saul replied Who are you Lord? The voice Answered “ I am Jesus whom You are persecuting.

Memory Verse “ Lord what do you want me to do” Acts 9:6

Saul was blinded Jesus told Saul go to the city and you will be told what you must do. Because of the strong light Saul was blinded. People led him into Damascus where he stayed for three days without eating and drinking. In a vision Saul saw a man named Ananias place his hands on him and restore his sight.

Ananias Ananias was one of Jesus’ disciples who lived in Damascus. Our Lord Jesus appeared to Ananias in a dream and told him where Saul was and what to do with him. So Ananias went to Saul as Jesus told him. As soon as Ananias prayed for Saul, something like scales fell from his eyes and immediately he was able to see again.

Saul has changed Saul was baptized From then,Saul started to preach among the Jews about Christ saying Memory Verse : “ He is the son of God”.
