Salem Witch Trials People were usually accused of witchcraft by the ‘afflicted’ girls Then put on trial whether they liked it or not. In this picture the ‘afflicted’ girls are screaming and yelling because of two women supposedly torturing them. The trials had trouble getting ‘Fact from Fiction' from the ‘afflicted’ girls. The people that were in court did not have good chance of winning, or going back to the outside world because of the unfair courts.

The trials most of the time the trails were unfair and if the ‘afflicted girls’ said you were a witch to the people it made you one because of the hysteria, A person afflicted was considered to be tormented by the devil Upon the arrest you were taken to jail to await your trial
Most people denied being witches…. They were then most likely killed because of the ‘afflicted’ girls lying. The trials had priests from other counties To help calm the girls from their tormentor… The Devil Most of the time the girls just lied about the witches, probably for attention.

Religion When a neighbor suffered misfortune, they would not help because they believed it was God’s will. Puritans believed that Satan would choose the weakest individuals to carry out his work. Witches were considered as followers of Satan.
