3C Applications : 主題 : 利用網際網路技術，來監控、管理和偵錯 診斷資訊家電。 Web-based remote control, management/diagnosis for Information Appliances Information appliances: – Home Gateway. – Controlled devices: air conditioner, microwave, refrigerator, TV – Controlling devices: web pad, networked PC, wap- enabled mobile phone.

3C Applications: Example User can remotely configure his/her IAs through any web-based enabled devices such as web pad, PC, WAP mobile phone. – User may want to turn on the air conditioner five minutes before arriving home. – User may want to check home condition/security through home Video Cam. – User may want to cook foods in an intelligent microwave oven which can look up the cooking information on the web site of food venders.

3C Applications: Example IAs manufacturers can remotely configure or diagnosis IA products through any web-based enabled devices. – IA producers may remotely download new version of software (provide better services). – IA produces may remotely set up basic configuration. – IA produces may remotely retrieve information for diagnosis.

3C Applications: Example Restaurant Application: – Waiter/waitress gets orders from customer and click submit button to place the order which is sent to the cooks. – Cooks send the order to beep waiters and waiters deliver the dishes to the customers – Waiter computes the check and customer pays the check.

3C Applications: Example Office Applications: – Network administrators may remote configure their resources (printers, computers, …) – Facility managers may remotely control building devices.
