GENESIS IS ONE OF THE MOST INFORMATIVE BOOKS IN THE BIBLE GENESIS HAS THREE MAJOR LOCATIONS: THE FERTLE CRESEANT, ISRAEL AND EGYPT GENESIS HAS SEVEN MAJOR CHARCTERS: GOD, ADAM, NOAH, ABRAHAM, ISAAC, JACOB AND JOSEPH GENESIS HAS FOUR GREAT EVENTS: CREATION, FALL OF MAN, FLOOD, NATIONS THEME: CHOOSING A NATION THROUGH WHICH TO SEND A REDEEMER

WHO’S RIGHT ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF THE UNIVERSE: THE BIBLE OR SCIENCE? THERE IS NO CONFLICT BETWEEN GOD’S WORLD AND GOD’S WORD! TRUE SCIENCE, GUIDED BY THE LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE, WILL ALWAYS LINE UP PERFECTLY WITH GOD’S WORD, BECAUSE THE LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE AND GOD’S WORD BOTH HAVE THE SAME AUTHOR!

JUST SUPPOSE… SUPPOSE THERE IS NO BOOK OF SUPPOSE THERE IS NO CREATION ACCOUNT… SUPPOSE THERE IS NO GOD… MAN IS LEFT TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING WITHOUT GOD! THE PROBLEM: LIFE DOESN’T MAKE SENSE WITHOUT GOD!

THE FIRST VERSE IN THE BIBLE:

I. “IN THE BEGINNING, GOD…” “IN THE BEGINNING, GOD CREATED” MEANS: GOD EXISTED BEFORE THE BEGINNING! GOD IS ETERNAL GOD NEVER HAD A BEGINNING YESTERDAY: HE WAS TODAY: HE IS TOMORROW: HE ALWAYS WILL BE

BEFORE GENESIS:

GOD ESTABLISHED BELIEVERS IN CHRIST! “…He chose us in Him (Christ) before the foundation of the world.” Ephesians 1:4

III. “IN THE BEGINNING, GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH!” “The world was made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made….” Jn. 1:2 “For by Him, all things were created both in the heavens and on earth…all things have been created by Him.” Co. 1:16 “God…has spoken to us by His Son…by Whom he made the world….” Heb. 1:2

SIGNIFICANCE FOR US TODAY: 1. GOD IS…!

SIGNIFICANCE FOR US TODAY: 2.GOD IS AND THEREFORE, GOD CREATED! “THE HEAVENS ARE DECLARING THE GLORY (the existence) OF GOD AND THEIR EXPANSE DECLARES THE WORK OF HIS HANDS.” Psalm 19:1

SIGNIFICANCE FOR US TODAY: 3. SINCE GOD IS, AND SINCE GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH – THEN NOTHING THAT I FACE IN MY LIFE IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD! “…for nothing will be impossible with God.” -Luke 1:37

SIGNIFICANCE FOR US TODAY: 4. SINCE GOD IS, AND SINCE GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH, HE IS STILL INVOLVED IN HIS CREATION TODAY, AND THEREFORE, I DON’T HAVE TO WORRY! (THEO-CENTRIC!) “He has made known to us the mystery of His will…suitable to the fullness of time…summing up all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon earth…” Eph. 1:9,10

SIGNIFICANCE FOR US TODAY: 5. SINCE GOD IS, AND SINCE GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH, LIFE ONLY MAKES SENSE WHEN YOU INCLUDE GOD!
