Traineeships Growing your own workforce “How do you employ the right young people when there is no experience to judge?” The Traineeship programme aims to enable employers to assess and develop the talent, aptitude and potential of inexperienced young people before making the commitment to a contract of employment or Apprenticeship. It also gives the young people the opportunity to try out an employment sector in a supported way before they commit to working in it, and to gain experience that will support their applications for employment.

What is a Traineeship? An education and training programme for year olds that is specifically designed to lead to employment which includes: a significant structured work placement as the core element work preparation training according to individual need English and maths support if required Flexible additional elements to meet labour market and learner needs

Key features of a Traineeship Flexible timescale Traineeships can last from a minimum of six weeks to a maximum of six months Flexible content The content is tailored to the needs of the individual and the host employer based around a structured work placement. Positive outcomes A Traineeship is designed to prepare young people to enter employment within 6 months

Who is a potential Trainee? YOUNG (16-24) MOTIVATED TO WORK (but currently not employed) KEEN TO LEARN INTERESTED IN YOUR BUSINESS SUPPORTED BY A TRAINING PROVIDER NEEDING EXPERIENCE OF WORK
