What is lead poisoning? Lead poisoning occurs when a person swallows lead or breathes in its fumes. Leads results can damage the brain, nerves, and many other parts of the body.

Hypothesis Living in a 1926 house near the I-95, having a father working for the police department and an artist mother could cause lead poisoning in children because the family is in touch with a lead enviroment.

Background Information  Lead poisoning in the children can lead to learning disability, behavior problems, and metal retardation.  One out of six American children has a high level of lead in his or her blood.  Lead poisoning is especially harmful to fetuses and young children because it damage body systems that are still developing.
