2009 Science Enquiry Conference The American School of Bangkok

What is a Science Enquiry Conference? A science enquiry conference is the reporting of scientific research to a group of peers. It is demonstrates the “Scientific Method” What are some things the “Scientific Method” includes? (3 Minutes) What does a science enquiry conference look like?

What just happened? What did you notice? What did it include? How did he speak? What did you see? What did he say?

Grouping You may do the conference in groups of no more than 2 students. No exceptions. Find a partner if you want. Now you will be given the topics that you can search.

The Chapters that you may get ideas are as follows. These are just guidelines, you will have to do more research on your own. Biology: Chapter 11, 12, 15, APES: You may use any of the lab kits we have in the class but you must design your own experiment. Science Interactions: You may do experiments that involve chemistry, technology, and or electronics.

Gantt Charts This is an example of a Gantt Chart. I have prepared one for you that you must complete after the previous stages are done. This will help you organize your time.

The Process This handout will help you to organize your plan. This is a general system of events. Yours may be different and that is ok. This is meant to be an example.

Begin The first thing you must do is begin your Gantt Chart with your partner… you may begin. Good luck and there will be more to come.
