 VAC has roots in parent-child relationships as well as specific social political and economic contexts  There has been a growing awareness among professionals regarding physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect of children  It is acknowledged that identification, assessment and case-management requires sensitive and careful handling.  Overcome the taboo against speaking about the violence.  Promote Prenatal and Postnatal period  Recognizing that Violence during pregnancy have negative effects on pregnant women and the fetus  Mental health problems and pregnancy stressors needed to be identified during and after pregnancy  Post partum depression- psychosis is very critical for the safety of the mother and the infant. Father’s mental health should also be considered. Put Family Care First Life Cycle Approach

 Increasing access to prenatal and postnatal services.  Providing home visiting programs  Strengthen families Are needed

 Infanthood (0-3years )  Infants are more at risk of fatal injury, physical abuse and neglect than older children, indicating that it is essential to intervene early with health and social services to prevent child maltreatment, death and disability. Infant mental Inİhealth

 Estimates show higher infant homicide rates in the world. We need to know the number of infant deaths, that results from maltreatment (0-3 years of age).  Poverty, economic and social crisis, immigration, family disruption, mental illness have all contributed infants being placed in institutional care due to abandonment, child abuse and neglect.

 Our epidemiological researches showed that the impact of institutionalization on children is severe.  Tendency «end placing children under three years in institutions. Violence=Neglect.  Moving children from institutions to family based care, prevent unnecessary family separation, and support alternative care systems (kinship care, foster care or adoption)

 Family focused, relationship based interactions early in life  Positive parenting, good enough parenting  Sensitive parenting  Policies that are child and family- friendly act to universality prevent violence.

 Child Rights Monitoring and Evaluation Board initiated in April, 2012  Government Action plans (2006/7-2010/11), on-going for new action plan process  Hospital based Child Monitoring Center System developed  Different family counseling project (ASDEP)  Social economic support is increased for foster families and biological families at risk DG on Child Services of MoFSP appointed as coordinating agency in the area of VAC
