Buenos Aires Subway Expansion Country:Argentina Borrower:Government of the City of Buenos Aires Project: US$ 2.5 billion IDB Loan: US$ 1.5 billion Objective:Expansion of existing subway lines; construction of new subway lines; provision of rolling stock and signaling equipment. Description:The IDB is in the process of approving a technical cooperation operation to carry out the technical studies that will determine the expansion strategy for the Buenos Aires subway system. An ensuing loan operation should be forthcoming in Transport Projects

Sao Paulo Metro System Country:Brazil Borrower:Government of the State of Sao Paulo IDB Loan:US$ 168 million Objective:Expansion of existing metro lines; provision of new rolling stock and signaling equipment.
