Living Sacrificed –Your “A” Game Romans 12:9-21 (part 1) continued

Seven Habits of Highly Sacrificed People:

True Love 12:9a

“Let love be without hypocrisy.”

1 John 4:20–21 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.

Right Hate 12:9b

“Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.”

John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”

Oneanotherishness 12:10

“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;”

Who signs your paycheck? 12:11

“not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;”

Faith Under Fire 12:12 a & b

“rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation,”

James 1:2–4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

“This shirt is illegal”

1 Peter 4:12–16 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

Prayerishness 12:12c

“devoted to prayer,”

Acts 1:14 They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.

Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray continually,

“Mucha oración, mucha bendición. Poco oración, poco bendición. No oración, no bendición.”

“Much prayer, much blessing. Little prayer, little blessing. No prayer, no blessing.”

Giving 12:13a

“contributing to the needs of the saints,”

2 Corinthians 8:14–15 At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality, as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.”

2 Corinthians 9:6–7 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”

‘Hospitable Me’ 12:13b

“practicing hospitality.”

1 Peter 4:9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.

Hebrews 13:2 Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!

Matthew 25:35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

hos·pi·tal·i·ty noun, 1. the friendly reception and treatment of guests or strangers. 2. the quality or disposition of receiving and treating guests and strangers in a warm, friendly, generous way.
