Forsyth & Goodwin Rationale for the Project There is an increasing demand for learning brokerage to support demand led education. This service is currently provided by a wide range of organisations (EBLOs). The DCSF was keen that all EBLOs undertake CPD linked to performance standards. The DCSF funded this project at The University of Wolverhampton.

Forsyth & Goodwin Expected Range of Participants Undertaking CPD All involved with work related education, to include: EBLOs Business Partners School teachers FE & HE staff Training organisations staff

Forsyth & Goodwin Self Regulation & Assessment CPD needs to be:  Robust  Flexible  Quality assured  Relevant to participant and employer  Underpinned by nationally agreed standards

Forsyth & Goodwin Self Regulation & Assessment CPD Regimes examined  Academically accredited  Non – accredited  Conflated Accredited CPD may be demanded by users of the services and CPD participants.

Forsyth & Goodwin Work Related CPD Framework Content & design should:  Sustain learners willingness & ability to learn.  Be responsive to the wide range of learning environments in the work place.  Synchronise learning practice and theory.

Forsyth & Goodwin Recommended CPD Strands Strand 1:  CPD for learning brokerage linking education & world of work. Strand 2:  CPD for those involved in the governance of EBLOs Strand 3:  CPD for those conducting self assessments, peer reviews, and quality assurance. Individuals are encouraged undertake CPD from more than one Strand

Forsyth & Goodwin The development and recognition of the Practitioner will: Provide a pool of experienced & certificated practitioners able to:  Visit and conduct peer reviews of EBLOs  Mentor CPD participants  Promote and evidence parity of standards across the network  Identify and disseminate best practice Promote Practitioner status and expertise

Forsyth & Goodwin Further Developments A new professional body – The Institute for Education Business Excellence (IEBE) was established in The WBL framework developed in this project is included in the IEBE prospectus as a route for CPD.
