Environment Canada, Cloud Physics Research Division ARMP (Atmospheric Research Meteorological Processes) – Downsview, Ontario 4. What’s New in 2010 – OS Support for -X Vendor Operating System Compilers Supported HP HP-UX HP Fortran HP C/ANSI C Support for McIDAS-X on HP-UX was originally sunset with the 2006 upgrade, but was extended through 2009 due to the Australian BoM agreeing to pay the support costs for three additional years and purchasing a new HP workstation for the MUG. What’s New in 2010 – OS Support for -X Vendor Operating System Compilers Supported Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3 & SFU 3.5 g gcc 3.3 (packaged with SFU 3.5) 2010 MUG Meeting – Madison WI – Oct Windows 7 Plans SSEC is currently switching support from XP to Windows 7. Preliminary tests show that we will be able to support Windows 7 by the end of this year. We will announce our plans for XP support once we receive feedback from our current Windows users on the Site Survey at the end of the MUG Meeting.

What’s New in 2010 – OS Support for -X Vendor Operating System Compilers Supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 5.2 PPC gfortran gcc ESPC funded the additional hardware needed for PPC support. Plan to continue to release –X as needed for bugs & data/satellite changes (1 or 2 times per year) Plan to support –X through the current GVAR program, which looks like it will be about 2020 No immediate plans for support fee structure changes MUG members will continue to receive priority support for –X and –V Until –V can fully function as a replacement for -X, which will be years down the road, not much will change.
