“Follow the way of love … Values (cont’d) - 3. Gentleness & humility - not “Thus saith the Lord …” - rather “I think He may be saying..” - let the Spirit confirm it - no tablets of stone !!

“Follow the way of love … Values (cont’d) - 4. A submissive heart -submit your prophecies to others - especially to leaders

“Follow the way of love … Values (cont’d) 5. If ever get a word of discipline or rebuke, e.g. something sinful -don’t “blurt” it! - take it to someone in pastoral oversight first - pray for wisdom - words don’t always have to be given immediately

“Follow the way of love … Values (cont’d) 6. Prophesy according to your faith (Rom 12:6b), means two things - if you believe you can - DO IT !! - but don’t expect prophecies for the whole nation ……

“Follow the way of love … Values (cont’d) 7. Watch out!! If you have any personal emotional involvement.... in the person – subject – issue you are prophesying about....it USUALLY distorts our hearing

Developing Your Prophetic Gifting Session 4 - Let’s do it !!

Practical model for doing it! Get into groups of 4 people - preferably with those you don’t know so well Specific instructions for doing this are...

Practical model for doing it! Today No pressure on you to give prophetic words....but you must be willing to receive them

Practical model for doing it! Today - No ‘words’ that are corrective or disciplinary - or about impending disasters, babies, marriages etc.!

Practical model for doing it! Today All groups PLEASE stay in step with the directions that are about to be given One person in the group to TAKE NOTES of what is said for each person. Please rotate this role!

Practical model for doing it! In each group 1. Choose and focus on one member at a time. 2. Lay hands on that person (20 secs) - asking the Holy Spirit to come upon them - and to release prophetic gifts to the group

Practical model for doing it! 3. All wait on the Lord in silence (2 mins) asking Him questions like: -How have you gifted this person? -What ministry do you want them to exercise? -Is there something new you want to lead them into? -Is there anything for which you want to commend/praise/thank them ?

The model for doing it! 4. Share what each believes that the Lord has given them (5 mins) - NO DISCUSSION of what is shared !! - if time to spare - ask God for further revelation

The model for doing it! 5. After sharing the prophecies - lay hands on the person again - PRAY for them, thanking the Lord for speaking - BLESS what the Lord seems to have said to them - ASK HIM to clarify things that weren’t clear

The model for doing it! Repeat the process for each person in turn - Change the “scribe” for each new person receiving ministry. - Ensure that the Groups understand they are to keep to the timing of the person leading.

The model for doing it! In Summary: Focus on one person at a time - Lay on hands and ask the Holy Spirit to come upon them & to release prophetic gifts - Wait on the Lord in silence - Share what has been given - One person takes notes - At the end pray for the person - Choose next “victim” !! -

Developing the Prophetic Group Testimony Time

Testimony! Some questions - (Raise a hand if your answer is “yes” - PLEASE be HONEST !!!) 1. Did you EXPERIENCE the Lord’s love for you through the ministry you received?

Testimony! Some questions 2. Could you honestly say that YOU have been comforted, strengthened or encouraged because the Lord SPOKE TO YOU during this time?

Testimony! Some questions 3. Did anyone feel a little SCARED at the outset of this exercise?

Testimony! Some questions 4. Was anyone DEEPLY MOVED by what the Lord said to you?

Testimony! Some questions - 5. How many were SURPRISED and DELIGHTED that the Lord seems to have used YOU to speak to someone in your group?

Testimony! Some questions 6. Did any group experience the Lord’s SENSE OF HUMOUR through something that He gave?

One more thing ….. 7. Please identify any in your group – - who seemed to EXCEL - who may have a PROPHETIC MINISTRY - (this will need to be submitted to their Church leadership) - but pray for them … - we NEED these ministries !!
