In the beginning… Robotics Team Sponsors: Ms. Jena M. Rainey and Ms. Jacqueline C. Rhodes Ms. Rainey wanted her SECME students to build robots. She shared her plans with Ms. Rhodes, who encouraged her to proceed. She applied for the FIRST VEX Robotics Competition and was awarded $1200 worth of robotics equipment.

WEEK 1: Robotics Equipment Arrives and Robotics Team is formed from students attending SECME Workshop held March 22nd! (Snapshots from workshop)

WEEK 2: Students worked over Spring Break in Ms. Rainey’s Basement!

WEEK 3: Students continue to work on robot design at school!

Construction of the Playing Field Begins during Week 3!

Student Achievement Resulting from Awarded Robotics Equipment Southside students advance to the semi-final rounds at the First VEX Robotics Competition held at the Georgia Dome (April 21st-April 23rd) Placed 3rd Overall Received the Prestigious BUILD AWARD.
