THE MICHIGAN MERIT EXAM All Michigan students take the MME in March of their junior year. It includes: A free ACT college entrance exam that can be used to apply to college. A free WorkKeys assessment that connects work skills training, and testing to improve students’ education and job opportunities. An additional assessment to cover areas not included in ACT or WorkKeys

WHAT IS ACT AND WORKKEYS? The ACT test is a standardized test designed to test the knowledge base of a student in areas of English, mathematics, science and reading. WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system measuring real-world skills. WorkKeys connects work skills, training, and skill testing for educators and employers
