Outcomes: 1. Define the term “genre.” 2. List six different genre categories and define each one. 3. Locate genre groupings in the classroom and provide specific examples of each genre. 4. Use context clues to identify various genres within a text reading.

How many of you know what the term “genre” means? Can anyone find clues from our room that reveal what the various genres are in literature?
