The catcher in the rye Julius Schamburg MYP4

Growing up Growing up is about getting older, getting an adult. You come through a ohase where life changes; where you behave special und unusual; where you start thinking about things you did not before. You start thinking of what you want to do later on in life, which way you want to go. You find out which sexual way you want to go,; do you like girls; do you like homosexuals or other groups of sexual interests. For example Holden when he meets the prostitute (Sunny), he does not really know what to do, so he decides to just tlak with her. Sunny feels surprised and tricked but again Holden does not mean what he said and he did not think clearly until the end. If he would have thought more in detail about the prostitute he would not even have ordered her. You do not just think about sexual orientation, you think of what you want to do in life later on; how your future is gonna look. Which job you wish to get, I think Holden wont get a lawyer after what he said about them, but maybe he did not mean it again or his opinion of this group of people changes, that is also about growing up. I think I am also growing up at the moment, everybody in my age is, but I want to end different then Holden, I do not want to have the problems he had, I will get them out of the way and participate in school; score high grades; like I am gonna do with this newspaper...

J.D.Salinger; the author oft he book “The Catcher in the Rye“ Here is some few information about J.D. Salinger, the author oft he book. J.D. Salinger is the son of a polnish father (Solomon Salinger) and a british-irish mother (Marie Jillich). He was born on the 1st of January 1919 in New York, and died † on the 27th of January 2010 in New Hampshire. The roman “The catcher in the rye“ made him become famous and rich. He married three woman and had two children with the first one. He lived in Cornish very quiet with not so much happening.

Qoutes Sex is something I really don't understand too hot. You never know where the hell you are. I keep making up these sex rules for myself, and then I break them right away. Last year I made a rule that I was going to quit horsing around with girls that, deep down, gave me a pain in the ass. I broke it, though, the same week I made it - the same night, as a matter of fact. The Catcher in the Rye, Chapter 9 I chose this qoute, because it shows what Holden really thinks about sex, they talk a lot about it in the book and Holden gives unnatural but this is my opinion. Goddam money. It always ends up making you blue as hell. The Catcher in the Rye, Chapter 15 Holden‘s family is not poor and they have money but I think Holden does not know how to handle that. It shows that he is very unhappy and does not really know what to do.

My opinion of the book What did I like?, What did I not like?, Would I recommend this book?, If yes, who? I enjoyed reading “The catcher in the rye“, because of the book giving me a lot of reflection and examples of how life is going. I learned a lot for my own life. The book was written with experience, I think J.D. Salinger brought a lot of things in that may affected him to in this age. I have no negative critic about the book, beside that there was going on far too much sarcasm. I do not like a book if it includes the word “sex“, but in every second sentence there is something about this theme. After a while it bores me and makes me feel irritated because I think that is not how this story should be written. Another positive thing ist hat Salinger used this great Stil and stayed informative in every single sentence. He described everything neatly but stayed interesting and responding. I would recommend the book to people in my age, to friends, to teenagers I know well. Like I already said, the gives you examples and ways of mastering puberty, so you should recommend it to people who go through this phase.
