Pure = research information platform system Pure helps researchers –Enhancing the visibility of researcher profiles and research expertise to the research community and the general public Pure helps administrators –In creating reports on any desired level Additional asset: User-friendly! Part of the Agreement with the Ministry of Research (cf. FRIS portal)FRIS portal 3 Concept and importance of PURE

Login to PURE: pure.itg.be/admin –Pure content can be managed via management tool –Selected content of Pure is published on external ITM website Pure has different sections: –Personal overview (includes cv and profile) –Research output (publications) –Projects –More… 4 Features

Researchers: responsible for correct information about themselves (both metadata and publications) Supporting Services assist: –Research coordinator: owner –PURE administrator: system management (access rights,…) –IT: technical support (version updates – database linking) –HR: management of persons –Dept. administrators: completing project information –Project Management: validation of projects –Library: approval and validation of publications 5 Roles and responsibilities

9 Process flow – Personal information Pure: researcher alters personal profile. Website: alterations are visible on researcher personal page.

10 Process flow – Research output (publications) Pure: researcher adds bibliographic data of new publication (PubMed import). Pure: Library approves and validates new publication. Website: new publication is added to researcher personal profile. Library may request additional information.

11 Process flow – Project information Researcher reacts to Call. IBS: departmental administrator enters budget information. Pure: researcher or departmental administrator completes project file. Pure: Project Management validates. Website: Selected project information is published instantaneously on ITM website. Basic information is harvested from IBS daily.
