Change Request Routing from the CUB (H01) to D04, D07, D08, E04 for the DMSC network. Routing from the CUB (H01) to D04, D07, D08, E04, G02, G04, F03 for the ICS network. Rooms for termination panels for DMSC and ICS in D04, D07, D08, E04 Connection to Copenhagen for DMSC 1

Proposed solution The main routing of ducts around the site will be completed with - 1 pc of 110 duct for ICS - 1 pc of 110 duct for DMSC These ducts will be equipped with microducts, one for each fiber cable. From each location to H01 there will be 4 cables installed in 2 separate routes for DMSC, and 1 cable in 2 separate routes for ICS. Each cable will be a singlemode (OS2) fibre cable containing 24 fibres (strands). Each cable will be terminated in a termination panel (ODF) at both ends. 2

Ducts, cables, fibers, termination panel 3

Estimate from CF includes Design of ducting in ground Design of ducting in buildings Coordination between the design disciplines Coordination with the disciplines of incoming ducting Cable Routing outside buildings consisting of bulk conduits in ground complemented with microduct (one per each cable) Cable Routing inside buildings consisting of cable ladders etc, complemented with microduct (one per each cable) Bulk earthworks for subgrade preparation; Subgrade preparation; Collection, delivery and installation of gravel drainage; Sand coating Fiber cables for DMSC and ICS including testing and documentation 4

Estimate does not include Temperature or humidity control in ground ducting Equipment and installations in the server room Racks for either DMSC or ICS Ducting from site connection point to Copenhagen Fiber cables from site connection point to Copenhagen. 5

Outstanding Termination points in G&F for ICS will be handled between accelerator and target. Termination points in the D&E buildings have not been determined (5 – 8 m 2 ). CF has stated that they would like to solve this is in DD of the D&E buildings. It is essential that these rooms not be forgotten and they be accepted as part of this change. It seems that these changes can be handled in a cost neutral way. 6

Risk to the project Without fiber routing for the ICS network, none of the parts of the machine will be able to talk to each other and therefore none of the machine will work. This includes PSS, TSS, instruments, and many other systems. Without fiber routing for the DMSC network, no data from any experiment can be stored. This change request affects both the machine and science directorates 7

Costing 8 ~2.9 M€
