Surface buildings – LHC5 HL-LHC Technical Infrastructure Meeting - N. Dos Santos Courtesy: M. Manfredi UR15 No conflict with existing EL buried cables After check on site, OK for connection to existing galleries and SEM/SR5 Space needed for new container of ~22 m2, near SE57 (new diesel generator)

Surface buildings – LHC1 HL-LHC Technical Infrastructure Meeting - N. Dos Santos Courtesy: M. Manfredi (not last update) UR15 Integration of new buildings difficult due to huge amont of buried network (cables and fibers) 1.5 m is safety distance to HV cables when digging – risk of accelerators stop if done during RUN2 Cables and fibers displacement only possible during LS2 (IF REALLY NECESSARY!!)

Conclusions HL-LHC Technical Infrastructure Meeting - N. Dos Santos Everything in this presentation is the result of preliminary study The HL-LHC project should centralise the users requirements (for EL network and also for cabling) HL-LHC power needs of «others» users and safety needs to be identified (all LHC sites) and also Experiments power increases The load projections for 2030 are foreseen to be updated with the users (last load review NET2025 – EDMS and done in 2012)
