BRITISH COUNCIL CONNECTING CLASS ROOM ACTIVITY IN CLASS VII AT IBA COMMUNITY COLLEGE JACOBABAD SUPERVISED BY: SIR JAVED AHMED (HEAD TEACHER) SIR SALMAN RAFIO (ISA COORDINATOR)

British Council Connecting Class room activity was done by the students of class VII on topic Culture In A Box. In this activity students highlighted the Culture of District Jacobabad, Sindh, Pakistan.

 General John Jacob built 30- feet high devocate in the premises of his residency for the pigeons. It was built in 1850’s.It is a historic place in the city.

 Victoria tower is a most significant, 60-feet high imperial monument of Jacobabad town. This was built on The tower was built to commemorate the jubilee celebrations of British Queen Victoria.

 All the places of Sindh have unique importance. Likewise, Jacobabad, District of Sindh is famous for making cultural things like Sindhi Cap, Ajrak, Ribbon (Sagi). The people of Jaocbabad are very much interested in making and wearing these things. It is the hobby of most of the women of Jacobabad especially living in villages. They pass their time in making all these type of things.

There is a very historical festival name as a Horse And Cattle show which is celebrated in January every year. This festival was started was General John Jacob which was also founder of Jacobabad city. This event is only one event for entertainment of Jacobabad. Horse, Camel race shooting traditional plays are the art of this Mela.
