Planet Earth Harley Graham 6 th Grade Project Science

Our Earth The Earth is the biggest of all the planets. It’s a planet that is a dense. It’s found in the inner Solar System. The diameter of Earth is 7,926 miles. The circumference measured around the equator is 24,901 miles. There are currently almost 7 billion people living on the Earth. About 30% of the Earth's surface is covered with land, while about 70% is covered by oceans.

Czy. Earth is a small, rocky planet which supports a variety of life! As far as we know, Earth is unique from all other planets in this respect.

Temperatures at the Earth Center Temperatures at the Earth's center (called the "core") may be as high as 7500 K - That's hotter than the surface of the Sun !

Earth Earth is the only planet whose English name does not derive from Greek or Roman mythology. The name comes from Old English and Germanic language. There are, of course, hundreds of other names for the planet in other languages.

Earth Fact The Earth is 4.5 to 4.6 billion years old, but the oldest rocks are 4 billion years old. Rocks older than 3 billion years are rare. The oldest fossils of living organisms are less than about 3 billion years old!

Part 2 Facts The water bodies cover nearly 70 percent of the Earth's surface and the oceans are at least 4 kilometers deep. The Earth rotates around its own axis that tilts at around 23 degrees. Earth is the only planet in the solar system that does not derive its name from Greek or Roman mythology. It is the only planet in the solar system that has plate tectonics. The tectonic plates are regions the are floating on top pf the magma of the Earth and can move against each other.

Things About Earth We have lived on Planet Earth all our life. But we never pay attention to it because we don’t care. Sometimes I don’t even notice I’m on it. Earth is in so much of a mess cause we have to many smoke stacks, people that litter, landfills, and so much more.

Problems Problems with the earth today is pollution. Pollution is big. About 1% of the U. S. landfill space is full of disposable diapers, which take 500 years to decompose. Enough glass was thrown away in the 1990’s to make up the twin towers. Americans use 50 million tons of paper – consuming more than 850 trees. Americans use 50 million tons of paper annually - consuming more than 850 million trees.
