One of the most influential art movements of the 20th century. Pioneered by Pablo Picasso and George Braque The joined by Robert Delaunay and Fernand Léger, amongst several others. This art movement influenced more than just other artists, but musicians, authors and architects.

Cubism… objects are analyzed, broken up and reassembled in an abstracted form The artist depicts the subject from a multitude of viewpoints Major Influences…. Exploration and discovery of native cultures/countries during this time period Art from other cultures revealed that shapes and forms could be simplified and rearranged to increase power and expression. Cézanne - who started to develop the style as an expressionist was also a primary influence on the movement.
