Summary(1): Test Route A - Median Daily Throughput - (Median of Daily Maximums and Minimums) Destination Throughput ( Kbps) Period (mm/dd/yy) max. - min. 1. GSFC /01/ /12/ /13/ /24/03 2. JPL /01/ /12/ /13/ /24/03 3. CCRS /01/ /12/ /13/ /24/03 4. AIT /01/ /12/ /13/ /24/03

Concerns Test Routes A and B - On Apr 13 th EOC-GSFC route, average throughput dropped by 75%. (Figure 3) However in TKSC-GSFC route, no changes come out(Figure 4). (Traceroutes before and after Apr 13 th are shown in Figures 5 and 6.) - On Jun 14 th average throughput rose by 100%. (Figure 3) - Same phenomenon are appeared in other nodes.

Figure 6

Concerns (continued) Test Route C - After July 16 th in the HEOC- ASF route, average throughput fell by almost 12%. (Figure 7) Almost same phenomenon are appeared in other node. NASDA didn’t make any changes to the network configuration.

Figure 7 7/16 drop

Figure 8aFigure 8b

-Test Routes A and B ( Internet route) In HEOC–TKSC–GSFC route, As it shown in Figure 3 on HEOC-GSFC route, the throughput suddenly down on Apr 13th. However the throughput does not change in TKSC-GSFC route. NASDA replaced FireWall on Apr 13 th at EOC. We are investigating influence of replacement or another factor. -Test Route C (EBnet route ) As it shown figure 7,There is a dropping in average throughput on Jul 16 th. From the results of traceroute,(figue 8a,b) there are some delay after What makes it so ? NASDA didn’t make any changes to the network configuration. Should they be investigated ? Proposed Investigations

Other News -NASDA will switch US route to APAN instead of SInet. - NASDA Will Change to JAXA on Oct. 1 st. Domains will change following. $$$.nasda.go.jp $$$.jaxa.jp Also the old domains will be able to use until end of Sep
