“What is WATTLE?”  ‘WATTLE’ – “Web Access To Teaching & Learning Environments”  Replacing WebCT 4.1 as the University’s new “Learning Management System” (LMS)

Learning Management Systems  A convenient way for lecturers and students to interact online  Resources, assessment, communication  Easier to use by lecturers and students

WATTLE is ‘moodle +’  Based on ‘Moodle’ platform and additional technologies (such as Digital Lecture Delivery, Wimbacreate, CAMTASIA and so on)  Moodle is: increasingly widely used; open source; able to do more things, including Web 2.0; easy to use; better supported

WATTLE, right now  So, what does WATTLE look like?  Login at  “Blocks”, “Topics”, “Resources” and “Activities”  Some examples…

How do I start using WATTLE?  Program by program rollout Start with a sandpit site whenever you like All WebCT sites between now and S2, Others – as determined. Developing LAW specific template Different support for different programs depending on need, such as information sessions; individual consulting; small group help sessions; teacher support sites Help also available from wider support community: DOI; Netspot; Moodle community
