Kelidon and e-learning Our definition of e-learning Our philosphy Our aims and objectives Our target group Our blended and online courses Our metodology Our tools

Our definition of e-learning A way of delivering training without being in the same time at the same place, through the use of new technologies, A way of deliveing training with the presence and support of an online tutor, A way of connecting people together, A way of supporting interaction, collaboration and community among participants, A way of give value to “critical thinking and active learning”.

Our Phylosophy We believe that e-learning is not just technology but pedagogy supported by the use of new technologies, We believe that e-learning should stress the use of “active” teaching and learning techniques rather than a “passive” one, We believe in the effectiveness of community, collaboration and cooperation for teaching and learning online, We believe that the presence of a tutor is crucial for the success of an online learning process, We believe that online adult learners should be involved in activities directly related with their own daily working practice

Our Aims and objectives Deliver online courses supported by a strong and well defined pedagogy, Enpower online learning through collaboration and cooperation, Develop blended and totally online courses, Develop an effective learning and assessment strategy online, Put emphasis on the active and critival role of learners during the learning process, Use the methaphor of the learning community online for teaching.

Our target group Adult people from over 18 years old –Emplyees and employers –Disadvantaged people (unemployed, people with disabilities) –Women –Immigrants –Teachers and educators –People from abroad

Our blended and online courses Training trainers (online tutors) E-learning 626 law Environment Quality Business English and Italian Business start-up

Our methodology Creating and sustaining an online interactive autonomus community of learners, Making use of both individual and group online activities, Developing high level of online interaction, on a given material Assuring a constante and supportive presence of the tutor online, Developing new assessment criteria and tools: ex. self assessment, peer assessment, group assessment, individual assessment, Paying attention to all different kind of “participants learning style online”

Our tools The plafrom we are using at the moment is First Class, defined as a “Conferencing System” which main aims is that of fostering online discussion and interaction among learners and tutors. This allows us to use both Synchronous and asynchronous tools for the online communication: -Synchronous: chat room, -Asynchronous: Forum and We believe that the simpler and intuitive is the technology, the easier is the access and the learning for individuals online.

Thanks and Bye!☺ I do hope this small presentation gave you an idea of what we intend with the word “e-learning” and how we carry out our courses. Please feel free to write me some questions if you whish so! Lucilla ☺
