Professional Growth Planning Teacher as Learner….  The intention of a Professional Growth Plan (PGP) is to ensure that the informal plans which teachers formulate for themselves will become explicit, effective, and realistic.  Professional Growth Planning is a process of self-directed inquiry focused on what teachers need to learn and do to improve their practice, resulting in improved student learning.  The PGP should be directly connected to student learning.

Step 1: Needs Assessment Use your framework “State Criterion at a glance” to help Identify Goals -Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching -CEL’s 5D+ Teacher Evaluation Rubric  Take 5 minutes individually and highlight descriptors/indicators listed in “State Criterion at a glance” that represent areas of your desired growth.  From the framework, discuss with your mentor and select specific domain (component) or dimension(sub) to focus goal.
