Presentation transcript:

La Côte D’azure By Benjamin Burton

Nice The city of Nice is a large, ethnically diverse city on the French Riviera The beaches of this popular tourist location are unusual in the aspect that they have small stones instead of sand Nice is a major port city, and also has an abundance of great shopping locations, good sea food, and fine restaurants

Menton The last French city before the Italian border, Menton is bordered by lush green gardens and lemon groves Despite it’s unique, exotic beauty, Menton is off most tourists’ radars. Menton has pebbled beaches instead of sandy ones Because it is not a common tourist location, the prices tend to be lower than most cities, and the streets less crowded Menton is said to have the highest temperature along it’s coast. The Fête du Citron® (Lemon Festival) is celebrated every year in February in Menton

Food en La Côte D’azure The Provence and Côte d'Azur region is rich in quality citrus, vegetables and fruits and herbs This region is one of the largest suppliers of all these ingredients in France. The region also produces the largest amount of olives, and creates superb olive oil. Honey is a prized ingredient in the region. Seafood proliferates throughout the coastal area. Goat cheeses, air-dried sausages, lamb, beef, and chicken are popular here. Garlic and anchovies are used in many of the region's sauces, as in Poulet Provençal. The cuisine uses a large amount of vegetables for lighter preparations. Truffles are commonly seen in Provence during the winter.

Interesting Events in La Côte D’azure The Cannes film festival is the largest international festival of it’s kind. It is an annual festival that is very prestigious. La Circuit de Monaco is a Formula One Grand Prix that occurs in Monaco one weekend each May.
