To know the importance and benefits of mineral water in our lives. To difference between different kinds of water, composition and properties for our health. To study the location of different springs and water sources in Andalusia and in Spain.

To be concious of the protection and conservation of the natural resources and to develop a favorable attitude to the rational use of water as a natural resource. To appreciate the different characteristics of mineral and tap water. To distinguish between fresh water and potable water and to discover differences between water purification and water depuration.

 High contents in salts.  Used in hydrotherapy spas, mainly.  For obesity, liver, rheumatism, gallbladder, anemia, nervousness, stress…

 1 gr. bicarbonate per liter of water, and other minerals.  This water comes from volcanic lands.  Used for acidity of stomach, gastric ulcer, gastritis, constipation, diarrhea, obesity.

 Free carbon dioxide.  Easily distinguished for the bubbles and the slightly acidic taste.  Stimulate digestive acids, alkalize the blood and increase the removal of body fluids.

 High contents of sulfate.  Recognized for its bitter taste.  Used for liver, problems of skin and constipation.

 They have a large amount of sulfur.  Mainly for external use.  Used for skin, arthritis and rheumatism and respiratory diseases.

 They content a lot of iron  They are suitable for drinking.  Used for anemia, digestive atony, obesity and rheumatism.

 They have radium salts which give them a natural radioactivity.  Used for hydrotherapy.  For bronchial diseases, hyperthyroidism, nervousness and depression.

 They have few minerals.  It is considered “water for diets” because it stimulates kidney function and promote diuresis.  Used for people who has kidney stones, suffer of gout, rheumatism and digestive problems.

 THEORETICAL INFORMATION.  Investigate about different kinds of water.  Benefits of each one.  Where we can find spring water in Spain.  PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES.  Make a sewage.  Make murals with different types of bottled water and their composition.

MATERIALS NEEDED FOR MURALS: MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THE SEWAGE:  Different kinds of bottled mineral water.  Maps.  Cardboards.  Plastic bottles.  Sand.  Gravel.  Coal.  Plastic netting. AND COMPUTER PRESENTATIONS.

Viewing a video about mineral water, composition, benefits, bottled… Location the main springs in a map.Making a sewage. Decoration of our school with cartels made by pupils. English vocabulary about the topic.

Promote the conservation of natural resources Make a sewage Make a poster about their composition and characteristics. Find information about mineral waters.

Final test Experiments. Exposure to other groups. Experiments. Test about the previous activities. Sharing about the subject.

They will learn to respect and protect our natural resources, specially WATER. They will be able to locate the main springs in our Autonomous Community and in our country. They have the opportunity to check the information with the real experiences and to check the process directly. They can understand the importance of water in our daily life. Children study the benefits of mineral water in our health.

ENGLISH ARTS SCIENCE They have practised with the vocabulary of the subject. They are related to Natural Sciences. They have worked with cardboards to decorate our school.
