Color Theory Painting

Color Theory Assignment Students will create a composition with a subject of their choice on a 12”x 18” (9”x12”) sheet of heavy drawing paper. The composition must take up the entire working surface so the drawings must be large! The design must include many details! The final painting must be neat, clean and professional (as good as hard work can make it!) Students may use watercolor, colored pencils. or oil pastels to apply the color. Color must be applied as per the following instructions: (next slide)

Students have to include in their composition areas with specific color schemes: (1.) color wheel (2.) black and white scale (5 different values) (3.) monochromatic scale (4.) analogous color scheme (5.) complementary color scheme
