Subcommittee on Innovation, Information Society and Social Policy IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ACTION PLAN  The Action Plan for implementation of the National Strategy for Youth was adopted on April the 7 th, 2009 by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia  Civil associations and institutions from the Republic of Macedonia supported and start implementing the activities envisaged in the Action Plan  Work-shop organized in the course of November by the Agency for youth and sport : Coordinating the process of monitoring the implementation of AP and gathering information from civil associations and governmental sector on the projects and activities Presentation of the priorities of the Agency’s Youth Sector for 2010 delivered

Subcommittee on Innovation, Information Society and Social Policy PRIORITY: EDUCATION  The following activities directed towards attaining integration of youth within the educational process were organized: 12 youth training sessions 18 work-shops on inter - cultural learning and resolution of conflicts 3 inter-cultural exchanges with other countries 4 sport matches played  70 young people volunteered in the following institutions: Secretariat for European Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance, several National Banks.

Subcommittee on Innovation, Information Society and Social Policy PRIORITY:YOUTH-SELF EMPLOYMENT  Raising awareness of youth for the need of individual approach towards resolving the issue of unemployment, by organizing several trainings and workshops : Educational work-shops 2 seminars on self-employment 3 panel discussions 1 round table Several training sessions on entrepreneurship  Results:  30 young people were trained to start own business 10 young people started their own business ( Roma people) 50 practicing employees acquired working experience, 15 of them were regularly employed

Subcommittee on Innovation, Information Society and Social Policy PRIORITY: QUALITY OF LIFE  Improving the sport infrastructure – implementation of the Projects for construction of sport halls and football playgrounds Project “Construction of 35 sport halls” Project “Construction of 50 football playgrounds” The Agency of Youth and Sport awarded 500 scholarships for the most talented athletes in all sports The Agency of Youth and Sport donated sport equipment in many schools A Campaign for promoting voluntary activity launched in Skopje

Subcommittee on Innovation, Information Society and Social Policy PRIORITY: PARTICIPATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE  Numerous activities towards raising the awareness of youth for the importance of their inclusion within the public life and decision making process organized: A campaign for promoting the necessity of youth inclusion launched 25 young women were trained on topics such as: gender’s equality, team work and leadership Voluntary info points were established The Strategy on voluntary activity was promoted 106 youth exchanges were realized among young people from the Republic of Macedonia and young people from EU.

Subcommittee on Innovation, Information Society and Social Policy PRIORITY: YOUTH INFORMATION The process of establishing Youth Information Center is ongoing A Web - site for youth information was designed International training for on - line journalism was organized Informative meetings and meetings with representatives from ethnic communities were organized discussing the subject of human trafficking

Subcommittee on Innovation, Information Society and Social Policy PRIORITY: CULTURE  Activities realized by the Ministry of Culture within the frames of the priority  79 Projects from the sphere drama were supported 3 Projects on the sphere of film were supported 340 Projects from the sphere of publishing activity were approved 194 Projects from the sphere of music were approved 265 Projects from the sphere of art were approved 58 students for postgraduate and Ph.D. studies were supported

Subcommittee on Innovation, Information Society and Social Policy PRIORITY: LOCAL YOUTH WORK Training programs for promoting the necessity of increasing the youth inclusion delivered 5 small grants in 5 Municipalities were allocated to newly established youth organizations to support organizing campaigns on local level Trainings for 10 Youth organizations on Youth inclusion, representation and lobbing were organized Process of creating local Youth Strategies in 10 Municipalities is underway

Subcommittee on Innovation, Information Society and Social Policy Results  106 Civil Associations were financially supported by the Agency of Youth and sport with a budget of 6 million denars  50 other civil association were additionally supported with the amount of 11 million denars.  Total annual consumption for Youth Sector in 2009 adds up to 17 million denars
