Pre-Reading: Clustering 1. Choose a “nucleus” word: main idea of the text 2. Put the nucleus word at the center of a piece of paper and draw a circle around it. 3. Think of words/ideas/concepts that connect to the nucleus word….ANYTHING you can think of...and write them around the nucleus  Draw circles around these new words/phrases  Connect to nucleus with a line 4. Add more connections...drawing lines to show which words/ideas/concepts are connected
