Presentation transcript:

Purpose The purpose of the Community Carnival is to raise money for Sardis Elementary School, benefitting either the school or a cause that the school wishes to pursue. We would also like to create a positive and enjoyable environment for everyone who attends.

Goals, Obstacles, and Strategies #1- Raise over $1500, giving $1100 to the school after budget costs have been taken into account. Obstacles - Entertainment equipment costing too much - Lack of attendance resulting in less money raised - Poor planning done by the group resulting in exceeding the budget Strategies - Fundraise to have more money to spend - Advertise to promote the carnival - Raise money to increase the budget

Goals, Obstacles, and Strategies #2- To have enough entertainment to provide fun for the entire duration of the carnival. Obstacles - Entertainment equipment costing too much - Not enough stock of entertainment equipment (ex: Bouncy Castle) - Poor planning done by the group careless of the young children’s interests Strategies - Research to find a variety of renting services - Come up with creative ideas for entertainment, which are low cost - Research the age group’s interests

Goals, Obstacles, and Strategies #3- To have good attendance, and to create a positive and fun atmosphere at the event. Obstacles - Lack of proper advertisement - Poor attitude of the volunteers at the event - Poor weather conditions Strategies - Make sure to create eye-catching advertisements - Encourage all volunteers to stay positive at all times - Move some activities into the gym

Event Details The carnival will take place on March 31 st, from about 11am to 3pm, at Sardis Elementary. Some of the activities we have planned are:  Dunk TankFish Pond  Prize WheelPotato Sack Races  Cake WalkEgg Painting (in spirit of Easter)  Lollipop TreeHula Hoops  Face Paint/TattoosSponge Throw  Bouncy CastleRaffle  GolfPiñatas We would also like to include Freddy the Falcon and have him walk around the carnival, as well as some Unicycle entertainment.

Finances Our finances completely depend on how much we raise ourselves. Our goal is to try and raise as much as last year’s group, $400, before the carnival, and $1100 at the carnival to give to Sardis Elementary. Some fundraising ideas we’ve come up with so far are:  Bake Sales  Bottle Drive  Car Wash  Pizza Sales (March 16 th and 30 th )

Budget Face paint and temporary tattoos$10 Mini golf course (one hole)$10 Water balloons$10 Lollipops for the lollipop tree$20 Piñata$25 Craft station$30 Things for raffle baskets$50 Prizes$125 Concession stand$250 Total$530 This goes over our goal of raising over $1500 and giving $1100 to the school, so we want to try as hard as we can to receive donations (ex: Ms. Zenzen might have a prize wheel left over from the Greendale Elementary School carnival last June).

Timeline March 16 th – Pizza Sale March 30 th – Pizza Sale March 31 st – Community Carnival Day

Class Involvement We need everyone’s help for this event!  Setting up for the event  Running stations the day of the carnival  Baking cakes, cupcakes, etc for the Cake Walk
