 NOVICE ____________________ENTRY-Level Clinical Performance Performance

 A PTA student who provides quality care only with uncomplicated patients and a high degree of supervision.

 Without close supervision the student’s performance and judgment are inconsistent and require constant monitoring and feedback.

 This is typically a student who is inexperienced in the clinical environment or who performs as though he or she has had limited or no opportunity to apply academic knowledge or clinical skills

 A PTA performing at entry- level consistently and efficiently provides quality care with simple or complex patients and in a variety of clinical environments under the supervision of a PT.

 The physical therapist assistant at entry-level, under the supervision of a PT, usually needs no further guidance or supervision except when addressing new or complex problems.

 Different settings  Types of patients  Types of supervision  Complexity of tasks  Consistency  Efficiency

 Quality  Supervision/guidance required  Consistency  Complexity of tasks/environment  Efficiency

 Demo________Highly Of limited Skilled Skill Demo

 Supervision/guidance Fulltime _______ Independent with consultation  Consistency Inconsistent_________ Consistent  Complexity of Task/Environ Simple ________________ Complex  Efficiency High time expended___________Economical/timely
