Presentation transcript:

Commissioning data are taken with individual chambers TP data autotriggered Cosmic rays data  ( different configuration) Different cosmic track angle  ( sector depending) Commissioning primary goal is to verify the cabling, the trigger and readout i.e the MiniCrate performace and last the performance of the chambers once installed. We may gain experience on chambers performances with final MC and with real data Urgent Problems : we have to study their effect and origin  40MZ  occupancy distribution ( pattern)

A ) OVERALL STATISTICS of STANDARD commissioning Chamber PARAMETERS B ) with TRACK reconstruction resolution, efficiency, layers & SL Phi alignment. (?? Effect 40MHz problem ) C ) AUTOTRIGGER performance: rates, correlations with angle (?? Origin of Occupancy pattern). D ) Correlations between point B) and C) and Sectors ( track angle) With the data we have to yeld

A) OVERALL STATISTICS of STANDARD commissioning Chamber PARAMETERS A. 1) -systematic analysis of noisy/dead cells/afterpulses/40MH - distinguish between known and new dead cells increase in dead channels? - average noise, no. of noisy cells, compare with cells already identified as noisy before --> in addition: can we learn something about the sources of noise? A. 2) -systematic analysis of Mini Crate feature in all chambers -TestPulses T0(chan) uniformity - TestPulses differences layers pair and unpair

B) Track reconstruction : not yet officially done on commissioning data but idea/tools are almost ready. B. 1 ) systematic studies of resolutions for many/all chambers ( and resolution as a function of angle, trigger etc etc) Check carefully the effect of the 40 MHz. B. 2 ) efficiency (within a layer, within a cell) B. 3 ) study the alignment of the 2 phi-SLs (one with respect to the other) and of the layers in the SLs. B.1 ) systematic studies of meantimes for many/all chambers ( i.e. layers alignment within a SL) >it can be useful only with good time resolution. NB: point B1 and B3 are strongly correlated.

C)AUTOTRIGGER performance:. C. 1 ) statistic of rate as function of type of autotrigger and sector ( some measurements are performed with scalers with no data taking and recorded during shifts ) C. 2 ) correlation between autotrigger and efficiency C. 3 ) correlation between autotrigger and resolution C. 4 )uniformity as function of type of autotrigger and sector ( possible tools...) C. 5 )...(too preliminary ! For cosmic challange).... comparison between computed autotrigger ( from TDC data) and and all triggered data. ( trigger on defined angle range etc etc) C. 6 ).....(too preliminary ! For cosmic challange)... comparison between simulated cosmic triggered data and real data....

What is necessary to implement for the above points : A) ( statistics ) Do the work !!! B) Checks that all parameters needed for the different points are automatically computed correctly i.e. check the robustness of their computation. - T0i ( Test Pulses hardware stability and computation algorithm.... TP computation must be performed with more care not yet satisfactory robust ) - T0 ( common T0 or tTrig) determination algorithmic developed already in Orca and quite robust. - geometry ( OK for MB3, MB2 and some MB4 ; OK a private version for MB1...official MB1 and MB4 geo must be updated for wheel +1 and +2, for wheel 0 and -1, -2 next geometry or next year problem) -Tmax: accuracy of 3% good for finding good efficiency tracks and associated hits. -T0 _event correction computation.

I may organize the work for track reconstruction point B and Xcheck with trigger relation with point C B) Checks that all parameters needed for the different points are automatically computed correctly i.e. check the robustness of their computation. - T0i ( Test Pulses hardware stability and computation algorithm.... TP computation must be performed with more care not yet satisfactory robust ) - T0 ( common T0 or tTrig) determination algorithmic developed already in Orca and quite robust. - geometry ( OK for MB3, MB2 and some MB4 ; OK a private version for MB1...official MB1 and MB4 geo must be updated for wheel +1 and +2, for wheel 0 and -1, -2 next geometry or next year problem) -Tmax: accuracy of 3% good for finding with (good efficiency tracks and associated hits.Best measurement after t0_event correction -T0 _event correction computation..
