BASIC BIBLE DOCTRINES Bible Study Guide

BASIC BIBLE DOCTRINES | LESSON 1 – “God Speaks” INTRODUCTION To hear from God; to know what God’s will is for our lives is a privilege that many in this world are longing for. If they could only hear His voice and know what He has to say, it would bring them peace of mind. I hear of God speaking to men and women in the past, but, does He still speak today? How can I hear His voice?

Romans 1:19, 20; Hebrews 1:1, 2 “That which may be __________________ is manifest in them; for God hath ____________________. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are _____________, being understood by the _________________, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are ___________________:” God.... spake in time past unto ______________ by _______________, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by _______________, known of God shewed it unto them clearly seen things that are made without excuse the fathers the prophets His Son

BASIC BIBLE DOCTRINES | LESSON 1 – “God Speaks” Note God has revealed Himself through nature—the things that are created (Psalm 19:1-6). God has also revealed Himself through the prophets (whose writings we have in the Bible) and through His Son Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah 30:1, 2 “The word that came to ____________ from the LORD, saying, _______________________ of Israel, saying, _________________________ that I have spoken unto thee in a _______________ ”. BASIC BIBLE DOCTRINES | LESSON 1 – “God Speaks” Some of the messages that the prophets received were written down in books or on whatever writing materials that were available in order to preserve them for other generations (see Romans 15:4). The compilation of the writings of the prophets is what makes up the Bible that we have today or the Holy Scriptures (Luke 4:17; 24:44).

It was written to tell us about Jesus and what He has done for us (in dying to take away our sins), so that we can believe in Him and be saved. Jesus is the central theme of the Bible (see John 5:39, 40).
