Culinary Chef Restaurant Owner

Basic Job Description A culinary chef is a person who specializes in presenting and preparing food dishes. Culinary chefs can also be very innovative in their food creations, because they can decide what is served, how it is served, and who makes it.

The 10 Characteristics -Values- I care about trying to serve the best food I can to the best of my ability for people to enjoy. People in this career care about the quality of their food and if people enjoy it. -Tasks and Responsibility- Chefs in this career have to do daily kitchen duties like clean, cook, and prepare food. Workdays are somewhat repetitive spending so much time in the kitchen but you’re always making new creations in the kitchen which can be fun and exciting. The pace is generally pretty easy-going, but it can still be hard because you always want to satisfy the customer. The work is a little bit physical and mental. You need to know what the ingredients for the dish are, what the order is, and how to properly make it. While physically you have to be able to cut things properly, and serve them on the dish properly. -Working with data, people, and things- This job obviously requires you to use all three of these skills. For data you would have to use the knowledge you previously learned to know how prepare a dish. You would be working with people in the kitchen and maybe even the customers. You would also be working with things like knives, stoves, and dishes, basically any sort of kitchen equipment. -Work Environment- Your surroundings would basically just be the kitchen of the restaurant. Socially you would be surrounded by another chef or two and the rest of your co-workers like waitresses and others. -

-Working Hours- In this career there would be little to know flex time at all. Restaurants have very strict opening and closing times like 8am- 8pm. So there would be very little flex time. -Aptitudes and Abilities- You have to be able to cook, and learn new recipes and remember old recipes. -Education and training- No schooling is mandatory, but it definitely helps you get the job easier and all ready know what you’re doing. Ideal curriculums include classic French culinary techniques, knife skills, sauce and stock preparation, how to identify quality food products and facts about seasonings. -Salary and Benefits- The average salary for a chef can range from $45,000-$86,000 depending on seniority and skill. About 75% of chefs receive some type of health care benefits for their employment. -Career Outlook- The career started for culinary chefs is not expected to raise beyond 2% more chefs until The estimated amount of culinary chefs worldwide currently is around 3.8 million people. So this job will be around for a long time. -Worldwide Career Outlook-Culinary chefs are known to travel worldwide to explore other cultures’ foods, ingredients, spice, and etc. These is a perk of any prestigious chef willing to travel, because traveling opens up vaster cooking opportunities and knowledge. Every culture is going to want culinary chefs!

Lifestyle Goals My lifestyle for this career would be to obtain my own restaurant/restaurant chain. Be prestigious in the culinary community. Open a restaurant in Santorini, Greece, New York City, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and also one in Holland, Michigan.

Location I would like to open U.S. restaurants in Michigan, New York City, and South Carolina, but I would also like to work out of country in Greece.

Their designs are required for a huge variety of products and activities, such as websites, advertising, books, magazines, posters, computer games, product packaging, exhibitions and displays, corporate communications and corporate identity, or giving organizations a visual “brand.” This work also demands creative designing.

The 10 Characteristics -Values- You should value what the customers looking for, but also sticking o what you want to put into your design. -Tasks and Responsibilities- Graphic designers create initial designs and manage projects to completion, working with specialists, such as photographers, and illustrators. Depending on their experience, they may take complete responsibility for a project or work under the supervision of a senior designer or creative director. -Working with Data, People, and Things- You will have to work with what the customers want and also what you think. You will probably not work that much with people depending if you’re making a company logo or something else. You will be working with computers and designing tools. -Work Environment- Many of these workers are employed in specialized design services, publishing, or advertising, public relations, and related services industries. In 2012, about 24 percent of graphic designers were self-employed. -Working Hours- Graphic Design is a deadline driven job that requires long hours of work to complete and meet deadlines.

- Aptitudes and Abilities- Most graphic designers have a bachelor's degree in graphic design, art, or a related field. However, this is a field where the strength of your portfolio is normally more important that your academic credentials and you will meet many graphic designers who developed their skills without the benefit of formal education. -Salary and Benefits- Graphic Designers make about $42,000 per year. They also receive basic Health Care benefits. -Career Outlook- There are currently 279,200 graphic designers in the United States, with 12,380 new graphic designer job openings created each year. Graphic Designer jobs are not expected to see much growth beyond their current levels in the next decade. -Worldwide Career Outlook- Graphic Designing is needed worldwide and probably will not go out of business anytime soon.
