JAIL FOOD SERVICE IN THE OLD DAYS……  The Sheriff’s wife generally provided the food for the inmates. If she was a good cook…….everybody won! If she wasn’t....they all ate a lot of burnt biscuits!

The picture is not a typical inmate meal!  Regular Meal Would Be:  Chicken Patty---3 oz $.27  Green Beans—1/2 cup.09  Mashed Potato—1/2 cup.09  Chicken Gravy—1/2 cup.04  Wheat Bread—2 slices.11  Margarine Whipped—1 tsp.02  Lime Jello—1/2 cup.06  Kool-Aid type Beverage.02  Total Cost for Food Alone $.70

SO WHAT ARE THE HOURS?  4:30 in the morning to 7:00 at night  Inmates are served three meals a day  2500 calories as an average  No more than 14 hours from supper to breakfast

SHOW ME THE MONEY  Hourly pay starts out around $ 9.50 an hour  Management can begin at $ 25,000 to $ 40,000  You can begin as an hourly and learn management

He was living in his car before that I’ve been fired twice
