What is a Trademark? How to file? (Online or , fax, post ) How much does it costs? (cheap, but can get expensive) What do you use trademarks for? ( Special brand, to make money)

Why are trademarks important? Useful communication tool. It`s very easy for the customers to be able to find you. They offer companies the ease of using the social media or the Internet. Overtime it becomes a very important asset. It makes it easier for the company to hire people. They are cheap to obtain. The trademark doesn't expire if you use it. They punish unfair competition.

Key concepts Has to be distinctive and without hindrances for registration A Danish registration is valid for 10 years and renewable every 10 years Subject to requirement of use or else you lose the registration The trade mark has to be used properly - indication that a word is a mark - never use the mark as a descriptive verb - use a generic name besides the trademark - take action against infringement
