A Choose Your Own Adventure Story

Directions: This is a story where you, the reader, gets to make choices about what will happen next. It’s a “choose your own adventure” story. As you travel down the road to friendship, you will have to make choices. Read the slide and then you will see choices. To make a choice and continue your journey, click on the button. Be careful and make wise choices. You never know what could be lurking further down the road.

A boy named Christopher traipses off into the woods for a hike one summer day. He goes too far and gets lost. He sees a small cabin. He goes to the cabin and knocks very carefully. Then out comes a girl. She says, “Who are you?” He replies, “I am Christopher. What is your name?” “My name is Molly,” she answers.” “Do you know the way out of these woods?” he queries. She whispers, “Yes.” She shows him the way out. Then she asks, “Do you want to be friends?” He ponders and says, “Let me think about it.” Should he be her friend? Should he not be her friend?

Christopher chooses to be her friend. They start chatting and Molly asks him if he wants to play a game. He says, “Sure.” “What do you want to play?” Molly utters She wants to play ball, but Christopher wants to play tag. What should they choose? Should they play tag? Should they play ball?

Chris choosse not to be her friend. Molly said, “Okay, FINE!” and tells him to leave and never to come back. She goes back into her house. Chris runs away storming mad. Christopher starts thinking about his choice. Maybe Molly wasn’t the kind of friend that he needed. She has an awful temper. He goes and sits by a tree. When he is sitting by the tree he hears something rustling in the woods. Should he go into the woods and investigate or should he stay by the tree and be mad? Go and see what it is? Stay right there and be mad?

They choose to play tag. Molly gets rambunctious and pushes Chris down while they are playing. Chris gets upset because he just ripped his new jeans and crushed his iPod. They start to argue. Chris begins wondering if he made the right choice to be friends with Molly. A real friend doesn’t push you and then get mad at you. Chris decides it’s better to keep on his journey and find a friend who is kind and caring. The end! Want to try again?

They choose to play ball. They start playing and talking at the same time. As they get to know each other, they realize that they have a lot of things in common. Not only do they like doing a lot of the same activities, but they both like to help others out. They also both want to have jobs that make the world a better place. They decide that being friends will help them to become a better person and help them to reach their lifelong goals. Being friends forever is definitely in their future. The end! Want to try again?

Chris wants to go and see what the sound is. As he gets closer he hears a flute being played. It ends up being Molly. When she sees Chris, she immediately jumps up and apologizes for her actions. She tells Christopher that she wants to be friends and she knows that true friends don’t act like she did. As they talk, they actually get along and discover that they have a lot in common. Chris likes music too and plays the guitar. They also discover that they both have goals to become professional musicians. Then they choose to be friends because a friend knows when to say they’re sorry and they understand who you are. The end! Want to try again?

Chris chose to just stand there by the tree. He does not move. He just lets his anger turn to depression. Chris and Molly never see each other again. Chris becomes very lonely and sad because he never looks for another friend. The end! Want to try again?
