The Galeazzi fracture is a fracture of the radius with dislocation of the distal radioulnar joint.

monteggia fracture is a fracture of the proximal third of the ulna with dislocation of the head of the radius.

This is called an open fracture and requires immediate medical attention because of the risk for infection.
