Welcome to MUSIC The Circus Click to hear a circus song!

When we watch a circus, we hardly ever think of the music, but it’s very important to the show. The acrobats are just about to come on, so the band plays a fanfare.

Acrobats climb long rope ladders up and up until they reach the swings at the very top of the circus tent. The acrobats are just about to perform a very difficult trick. So listen to how the band helps them build up the excitement.

By giving that roll on the drums, the circus band tells us that a very dangerous trick is about to be performed. We all stare up at the acrobats. When the band stops playing, there is a moment of terrible hush, when we all hold our breath. Then CRASH the cymbals tell us that the trick has been successfully completed and we can all relax again
